Kenya’s digital ticketing platform, BuuPass has partnered with Flexpay, a goal-based saving platform, to easen travel planning and the financial burden of holiday travel for Kenyans during this festive season.

The collaboration comes at a time when there is an increased demand for travel during the festive season where many Kenyans face challenges in securing tickets without straining their finances.

BuuPass co-founder Sonia Kabra noted that by partnering with Flexpay, they are offering travellers the flexibility to budget for their trips in advance.

“This initiative aligns with our mission to make travel accessible to everyone, providing a solution that meets customers where they are financially,” she said.

This new collaboration will allow for travellers to save for their journeys in manageable, interest-free installments over 4-12 weeks.

Travellers can select their travel dates, book tickets, and pay a small deposit upfront, with the remaining balance spread across weekly or monthly payments.

This approach aims to offer a stress-free way for families and large groups to secure their tickets early, helping them avoid last-minute price hikes as fares are locked in.

In a statement the duo said that the BuuPass-Flexpay partnership not only meets the immediate need for affordable holiday travel but also promotes financial planning among Kenyans.

“By allowing users to save gradually, it empowers travellers to book trips without resorting to high-interest loans or depleting their savings,” the statement read in part.

On his part, Flexpay founder and CEO Richard Machomba said the company’s mission is to empower individuals by providing accessible financial solutions that make it easier for them to achieve their financial goals.

“By partnering with BuuPass, we’re making travel more accessible and stress-free for Kenyans, especially during the holiday season when expenses can be overwhelming,” he said.

This collaboration aligns with BuuPass’s broader strategy to drive customer loyalty through innovative, user-centric solutions.

By simplifying how frequent travelers plan and pay for their journeys, BuuPass seeks to enhance customer satisfaction while reinforcing its position as a leader in integrating financial tools with travel services.

Through this strategic partnership, BuuPass reaffirmed its commitment to financial inclusivity and accessibility, providing a flexible and affordable solution for travelers across Kenya.
